Baby Announcement Tips + Tricks of the Trade

If there is such a thing as Baby Season, we are in the thick of it! We have been keeping busy at RSHQ designing Baby Shower Invitations + Baby Announcements. And let me tell you…we are in heaven. Every day we ewww and ahhhh over the photos of your adorable little ones. And the cute names! Your little ones are precious.

Most of us at RedStamp are moms too, so we realize you aren’t just creating an announcement, you are creating an important memory that will live with you/your child for the rest of your lives. We also know what those first few weeks of babydom are like. Chances are, you are tired, tired, tired. And perhaps a bit overwhelmed. So let us help with the baby announcements. Some tips + tricks of the trade ::

Wording ::

There are 4 key pieces of information you should include on your announcement. In addition to optional, introductory wording {see our personalized samples for ideas.}

  1. Baby’s Name {full name + nickname if you plan to call the child by his nickname — like William / “Will”}
  2. Birth Date + Time {baby album tip…make sure to include the year, too!}
  3. Weight + Length {lbs, oz + inches!}
  4. Who is Announcing the Arrival {parents, siblings, pets}

Photos ::

We love including a photo with your announcement. Babies are just so cute! Yours? Precious. The true time saver is printing the photo right on the announcement. If it’s on thick card stock with a matte finish, the look is fabulous. Have your heart set on including a photo print? Tuck a loose photo in the envelope instead of attaching it to the announcement. Not only does it save you time, it allows the recipient to proudly display or frame the photo.

Addressing + Mailing ::

Our suggestion? Opt in to an extra nap + try out our Mail-For-Me service. We’ll print the addresses directly on the envelope in a coordinating font, stick a stamp on the envelope + mail them for you.  The finished look is ultra-polished. And rather painless.

Design + Production ::

We believe professional {human} designers should be laying out your announcements on the very finest, eco-friendly paper available. {Which is why we don’t trust the process to an on-the-fly, computer generated system.} If you have questions…ask them! We provide an area for special instructions or questions. We look at each and every order that comes in + will answer your questions and provide our opinion on fonts, colors, wording, etc. with a visual proof for you to approve BEFORE we go to print. Our goal is to provide the very best personal service with all the convenience of online shopping.

    Please feel free to leave a comment here (the online case itself has no comment capability) or, if you’d prefer a more private channel, email me with your feedback about this case. Karim and I would like to hear what you think about it, and about the issues it raises. We’d also like to thank HBS’s Senior Multimedia Producer www.chase.com Melissa Dailey for being an outstanding colleague and collaborator on this project. This case would have looked very amateurish without her.
  • I agree with you about the 4 information that should be announced regarding to our baby's birthing, but 1 more should be added to the list which is Where, place where the baby were born.
